Ministry Counseling
Missionaries and ministry workers report high levels of stress, anxiety, and depression. They often suffer burnout and emotional strain and have limited options for support and counsel in their country of service. We do not want to see cross-cultural workers leave the field for preventable reasons. Refugio offers confidential pastoral counseling and support to missionaries and referrals when appropriate.
With a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and experience counseling students, women, and couples living cross-culturally, Stephanie provides pastoral counseling and specialty referrals. She specializes in narrative and cognitive behavioral therapy and helping people find their identity in Christ. Stephanie is also a certified Prepare & Enrich Facilitator, and Shaun and Stephanie have counseled multiple couples in pre-marital and marital counseling.
